WHY KANGAROO?

WHY KANGAROO?
Most of WAG’s range is Kangaroo: As advocates of ethical consumption, sustainability and making the right choices for our doggo’s health, we want to shine a light on the reasons why Kangaroo meat is right for your dog.

REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:

Kangaroos have a much lower use of resources than traditional livestock and due to their soft pads, instead of hooves,
cause far less degradation to the earth and erosion to the soil.

KANGAROOS ARE NEVER FARMED:

Kangaroos are 100% wild. They can’t be domesticated, and zero facilities exist to farm and process them the same way we do traditional livestock. They live wild and free, traversing the Aussie outback of their own volition, living in huge herds and travelling enormous distances each day. Not a single pound of Kangaroo protein you see on shelves have been farmed – just wild-caught by professional hunters.

CONSERVATION PRACTICES:

The Kangaroo industry is sustainable and humane and works in close partnership with government and independent experts as well as conservation and environmental protection communities.
There are strict and regulated quotas of Kangaroo harvesting. Around 3% of Australia’s 50 million Kangaroos are used for meat production each year and out of the 48 species of Kangaroos in Australia, only 4 species can be commercially harvested.

HOW TO FEED, STORE & MORE

How do I store these treats?

Kangaroo Cubes comes in a resealable bag for freshness. You can store these treats in an air-tight container in a cool, dry place.

How often should I feed Kangaroo Cubes to my dog?

No dog diet is complete without a treat. Make treats part of a natural, balanced diet: you can dose out up to 5 cubes a day.

How is this treat made?

The raw meat is sourced primarily from Queensland and Victorian butchers. The kangaroo meat is then dried through a slow air dehydration process. Air dehydration removes the water and moisture from the raw meat and adds nothing back in. This natural process locks in the nutrients and a rich, concentrated taste that gradually develops in each single ingredient.

Two Happy Pups

My two cavoodles LOVE LOVE LOVE their Kanga Jerky! They can now recognise the sound of the bag from anywhere inside or outside the house, and will be at your feet, sitting pretty for their treat. Long lasting, tasty and they just love it! Can't rate the taste etc. myself, but going off their reactions, it's a winner :D

Great treat for a reward or a snack

Our dog loves the kangaroo jerky strips and gets excited as soon as the packet is opened. I generally need to cut them into smaller pieces since they are a bit too big for her, but that's easily done with a pair of kitchen shears.
